My day job is about as far from rock-star as possible. So on occasion I have this urge to try and associate with anything or anyone that is a ‘rock-star’. There is a certain appeal about a life of unknowns, chaos, booze and travel…almost like a gypsy. A few months back we threw a party over at the Eagles with Bright*Giant and had around 100 paid at the door. Now that’s not a huge amount of people but it’s more than the previous time Josh’s crew came to town. Tonight, we have a chance to see Bright*Giant for FREE, and I hope like hell that we’ll have that placed slammed!
My father and I have a personal project you probably know of, nightlifesux.com. It’s been a great project to play with but now both of us are ready to take it serious. If you or anyone you know would like to help with input and possibly fill out a short survey for us to find out what everyone would like to have in a nightlife website. My personal goals for the website are:
- Allow users to create their own profile and blog. Users would be able to upload music, photos and events similar to a Myspace or Facebook – with one twist – it will be exclusive to the Siouxland area. Don’t get me wrong, Facebook and Myspace are great, but it’s an awful big sea.
- Start selling ads! We’ve consistently grown our audience and it’s time to turn that traffic into loot. We are still working out pricing, however if you or someone you know is looking to advertise to a specific target market we’d love to hear from you!
- Update more often. My hope is that we can find a few college students to intern and help with the load of writing a post every day.
Sooner or later (probably later) our dream will become a reality, and Sioux City’s nightlife won’t suck.
