As a fun little side project, I’m working on creating a new logo for my beloved California Bar in Omaha, NE! This joint played home to myself, my wife and several friends over a span of 6 years while I lived in Omaha. Say what you want to say about a bar on north 33rd in Omaha, but this place showed me that regardless of location and upbringing…good people ARE good people. There were several nights spent with too much blackberry brandy, smoke and all the other amenities. You see, my wife lived only a few blocks from the joint as a teenager and was used to the atmosphere. Myself, being a goody from a different style of living explored a world that was semi-dangerous but 100% real. Occasionally corners could be found frequented by dealers and bangers alike, but also stories and friendships that are much deeper than the stereotype built by movies and the news. This place showed respect and compassion, hardship and love – all in a city block.

Here are two quick logo roughs that I’m starting with, be sure to let me know what you think!

I have a few big ideas (one being my first of many self written and illustrated children’s books) that I’m working on right now and I’d like some extra cash to get the ball rolling. In light of the facts, I’ve decided to take on a side project or two at this time. I’ve made a note to stop in at Black Unicorn, one of Sioux City’s best tattoo shops, to see if they’d be interested in launching a website. The problem with that scenario might be my willingness to trade work and although I would love another tattoo, that won’t necessarily help me with my goal of raising extra money for upcoming projects.

I know what you’re thinking, “But Chase, I’m not sure of all of the great talents and services you have to offer!”. Don’t worry I’ll fill you in:

  • Illustration
  • Logo Design
  • Print Design
  • Web Design
